Join us behind the scenes of Formula 1: our reporters were present at every Grand Prix in 2025, including in Spain. We write about our experiences not only online, but also in our magazine. Part 9 of 24: Gerard Bos on the Champions League in the paddock.

Not on the track, but beside it. That’s where Pierre Gasly and Isack Hadjar celebrated a grand party this weekend. A French party, to be precise. Because the drivers of Alpine and Racing Bulls respectively watched their favorite football club Paris Saint-Germain win the Champions League (5-0 against Internazionale) on Saturday evening.

A special victory, as it was the first time ever in the club’s history. “This is what I’ve always hoped for,” Gasly said. “I’ve been a fan of ‘PSG’ for 24 years and this is definitely the highlight. I even looked at flights beforehand so I could be at the final in Munich.”

That turned out to be a bit too much, in between the qualification and race of the Spanish Grand Prix. So, they ended up watching in a hotel, in a room with friends and acquaintances. Among them, compatriot and fellow supporter Hadjar. The newcomer from Racing Bulls did so in a PSG sweater, Gasly even put on a jersey. It brought luck. And joy.
