Chris Schotanus

Claire Dubbelman is leaving the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to continue her career with the national motorsport federation of Saudi Arabia. Since early 2024, Dubbelman has served as the deputy race director in Formula 1, making her part of the core team responsible for race direction during Grand Prix weekends.

Her contract with the International Automobile Federation expires at the end of 2025. Dubbelman has chosen to embark on a new adventure in Riyadh. The Saudi motorsport federation plays a significant role within international motorsport and is partly responsible for organizing the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The exact role Dubbelman will assume there is not yet known.

Dubbelman joined the FIA in 2017, after previously working as the manager of the European Formula 3 Championship. From this role, she became involved in the sporting organization of Formula 1. In 2024, she was promoted to deputy race director, making history as the first woman to obtain a license to independently lead a Formula 1 race as a race director.
