In 2025, Isack Hadjar made his debut on the Formula 1 grid. The Frenchman began his career with Racing Bulls, the sister team of Red Bull. The rookie immediately caught the eye, especially when he reached the podium for the first time in Zandvoort. Hadjar reflects on his first Formula 1 season, thanking both Racing Bulls and Pierre Gasly for their assistance during his debut.

Isack Hadjar finished second in the Formula 2 championship in 2024, behind fellow rookie Gabriel Bortoleto, earning him a Formula 1 seat the following season. The Frenchman immediately proved that his move to the premier class was well-deserved, securing a third-place finish at the Dutch GP for the first time. As a result, Hadjar is now set to move to sister team Red Bull, where he will become Max Verstappen‘s teammate in 2026.

However, this would not have happened without the help of Racing Bulls, Hadjar himself explains. “I couldn’t have wished for a better team to start my F1 career with,” he told the media in Abu Dhabi. “They are simply used to preparing young drivers.” Previously, drivers such as Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda were ‘promoted’ from the team to Red Bull, although neither driver made a significant impact in 2025.

Gasly

Not only did Hadjar receive assistance from Racing Bulls during his debut, but former Red Bull driver Pierre Gasly also helped his compatriot. “I owe it to Pierre. We spent most of the winter together,” Hadjar explained. “I was so focused before I went to the test days in Bahrain. That’s where the work was done. That’s also why I got used to it so quickly. I adapted very quickly.”
