Ferrari has revealed the presentation date for its 2026 car: January 23. The Scuderia has chosen to unveil its challenger to the world on the same day as rival teams Haas and Alpine. Ferrari hopes that the successor to the SF-25 will turn the tide for the Italian racing team, although, according to team boss Frédéric Vasseur, it will already be a challenge to have the new car ready in time for the launch.

The tifosi had high expectations ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton made the switch from Mercedes to Ferrari. Fans of the Italian team hoped that the Brit’s arrival would end the Scuderia’s long title drought, but the results were disappointing. Hamilton failed to make the podium in any main race in 2025 – success in the sprint races notwithstanding – and at the end of the year, he expressed a longing for the winter break.

Ferrari’s New Challenger for 2026

Ferrari hopes to turn the tide in 2026 when the new regulations come into effect, with the successor to the SF-25. This new challenger from the team will be unveiled to the world on January 23, 2026, according to team boss Frédéric Vasseur. “It will certainly be a challenge, as we will only complete the assembly of the car the day before the launch,” the Frenchman said during a press conference in Maranello. “The launch will take place on January 23 in Maranello. That means we have to have the car ready by January 22. It’s a challenge, but all teams will do the same.”

Barcelona Testing

Vasseur was then asked whether the fact that the sport is entering a new era will influence the name of the 2026 car. “This is part of the launch, so you will discover that a little later. I don’t want to reveal everything and spoil the surprise,” the team boss added. Vasseur did reveal that Ferrari will drive a less developed car during the first test days in Barcelona. “I think everyone will do that. The most important thing then is to cover miles. It’s not immediately about pursuing performance. That means I think everyone will come to Barcelona with – not a mule car – but let’s say a spec A.” The test days in Barcelona will take place between January 26 and 30, 2026.
