Following the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Lando Norris looked back on his race start with a smile, but also with mixed feelings, having made a crucial mistake that cost him the lead to eventual winner Max Verstappen. “I let Max win,” he joked. “I wanted to put on a show, after all, we’re in Las Vegas, right?”

He then added seriously, “I braked too late in the first corner, it was my mistake. I was too aggressive and I paid a high price for it. It wasn’t my best race. But if someone wins with a twenty-second lead, they simply performed better. I’m happy I still managed to finish second, which is important for the World Championship. So, I’m not too disappointed. It was a fun and challenging race.”

With two more races and a sprint race to go, Norris leads with a 30-point advantage over teammate Oscar Piastri. The gap to Max Verstappen is 42 points.
