Max Verstappen expresses immense satisfaction with his triumph at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. “Simply lovely,” he says contentedly over the team radio immediately after the finish. “The car was good, the execution of the race was excellent. Thanks, everyone.”
After a short ride in a pink Cadillac provided by F1 sponsor Lego, Max Verstappen gives a more detailed reaction to interviewer David Coulthard about his sixth victory of the season, which came about after a stellar performance.
“It was good. Everyone was looking for the rhythm, especially in the first stint on the medium tires. We had the tires well under control and I could go on for a long time. The car worked well. There was a big gap at the end, but every lap felt comfortable.”
With two more races and a sprint race on the schedule, Verstappen naturally has no illusions about the world title. “The gap with Lando Norris is large, I try to maximize every race. I will continue to do that and at the end of the season, I will see what it has brought me. I am proud of the team. We have had a difficult season, with ups and downs. We have learned a lot and that is also valuable with a view to the coming years. We must continue to improve, come out stronger next season and hopefully we can compete from the first race.”
