Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar has made a significant impression in his debut year. The young Parisian scored well and even managed to secure a podium finish for the Red Bull sister team. Now, a promotion seems to be on the horizon. Top advisor Helmut Marko is certainly very pleased with the 21-year-old Hadjar, even comparing his skills to those of the greatest champions.
With three Grands Prix left on the calendar, the current Formula 1 season is drawing to a close. After this final triple header, Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar will officially no longer be a rookie. In the run-up to the season finale, Helmut Marko is extremely positive about his performances over the past year. The Austrian also believes that Hadjar possesses the same exceptional qualities as Formula 1 legends Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.
During a guest appearance on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Helmut Marko was asked if Hadjar has what it takes to become a world champion. “Yes,” the Red Bull advisor replied resolutely. “It’s very simple: most of the circuits were new to him this year, but after three laps he was competitive everywhere. I closely followed Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. They had it all; they didn’t need fifteen laps or a certain amount of testing. They arrive, bam, and they’re there.”
A promotion now beckons for Isack Hadjar, who may inherit Yuki Tsunoda‘s seat at Red Bull next year. The Japanese driver moved up to the main team this year, but – like so many predecessors – promptly fell prey to Max Verstappen. That’s why some experts advise that Hadjar should try his luck elsewhere. For now, however, Red Bull holds all the cards; the two Racing Bulls seats and the spot next to Verstappen are the only vacancies for 2026.
