Williams Unveils Retro Livery for US Grand Prix
Williams Racing

The Williams team is set to unveil a special surprise at the United States Grand Prix. The British racing stable will appear at the Circuit of the Americas with a retro livery, inspired by the iconic Williams-BMW from 2002. The FW46 will sport a dark blue and white color scheme for this weekend — a direct nod to one of the most successful periods in the team’s recent history.

In 2002, Williams, with drivers Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya, was still competing for podium places and victories. The collaboration with BMW not only produced powerful engines but also a recognizable, elegant look — a design that many fans still count among their favorites.

Sainz Praises Retro Livery

Williams driver Carlos Sainz is excited about the design and looks forward to hitting the track with it. He is confident that fans will also appreciate the livery: “The FW47 looks incredible in this 2002 retro livery, which I’m sure will be a fan favorite. I can’t wait to drive it in Austin this weekend.” A touch of nostalgia, combined with the modern sharpness of 2025 — Williams shows that history and the future can stand together on the grid perfectly well.
