Although Formula 1 now travels to America three times, there is still only one true United States Grand Prix. Haas – currently the only American team on the grid – only races a true home race in Austin. Reason enough for the team to dress the VF-25 in a special livery – quintessentially American, of course. Drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman will start this weekend with a livery full of ‘stars ‘n stripes’.

As with many special color schemes, you have to look closely to discover the differences. The car remains in the familiar red-white-black design, but some striking accents have been added. In honor of the home race in Austin, Haas chooses a livery that clearly refers to the American flag. Plenty of stars and stripes, then. “We are really looking forward to the United States GP; the Circuit of the Americas always feels like coming home,” said Ayao Komatsu in an official press release.

“It’s going to be a busy week full of activities,” continued the Haas team boss. “Add to that it’s a sprint weekend, so it promises to be a weekend full of adrenaline. We really want to score points with both drivers this time. We have a small upgrade package with us, but of course we can only properly evaluate that in the first free practice. All the more important, then, to make a flying start. We look forward to the challenge.”

American Fans

“It feels like we’re building momentum every weekend,” added Oliver Bearman. “We know the car is fast, and with the new update for the VF-25 in Austin, I think this will be a strong weekend. This is my first American GP as a Haas driver, so I know it’s going to be exciting. It’s fantastic to experience the atmosphere and the passion of the American fans – this will undoubtedly be a highlight of my season.”

Teammate Esteban Ocon has already started the US Grand Prix seven times. “I’m looking forward to returning to Austin,” he added. “Especially now that I can do so as a Haas driver. It’s such a cool city, full of energy, and since this is our home race, we know the American fans will create a great atmosphere. COTA is a fun but challenging circuit that almost always provides a spectacle,” he shifted the focus to the race. “I’m looking forward to getting back on the track, showing off our special livery, and hopefully giving our fans plenty of reasons to cheer.”
