Charles Leclerc has made a gloomy prediction for Ferrari for the remainder of the current season. According to the Monegasque, it is ‘unlikely’ that the Italian team will win a race this year. This is mainly due to competitor McLaren: ‘Unfortunately, they are also good in warmer conditions’.
After the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ferrari had to watch as Mercedes overtook the team in the constructors’ championship. Both George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in Baku. Meanwhile, Ferrari – unlike the Silver Arrows – is still waiting for a Grand Prix victory this year. The last win came during the Mexico Grand Prix in 2024, when Carlos Sainz took his last victory for Scuderia.

Therefore, Leclerc is pessimistic about the last seven Grands Prix of the season. “It’s very unlikely,” the Monegasque responds when asked about Ferrari’s chances of victory. “McLaren is – unfortunately for us – also very good in warmer conditions. We do have a chance against Mercedes during warmer races, but compared to McLaren, we certainly don’t have the stronger car.”
In contrast to his teammate, Lewis Hamilton is much more positive about the upcoming race in Singapore. “I’m optimistic,” the world champion even tells the media in Singapore. “I definitely feel better in the car. The Marina Bay Street Circuit has always suited me well in the past, so I’m looking forward to driving here for the first time with a Ferrari.”
