There’s no rest for Max Verstappen! After winning his second Grand Prix in a row in Azerbaijan, the Dutchman confirmed this week that he will be making his GT3 debut at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Having previously obtained the necessary racing licenses in a downgraded GT4 car, he can now prove himself in a much more powerful vehicle this coming weekend. The question is: Wann geht’s los? What time will Verstappen be in action on the Nordschleife?
In early September, Verstappen made his racing debut on the Nordschleife, and now he is on the eve of his first GT3 appearance. Two weeks ago, he drove a slow-tuned Porsche Cayman GT4, hoping to obtain his A-license for the German circuit. Despite some technical challenges, the local motorsport federation granted him the necessary paperwork to also compete in a GT3 machine.
So, this Saturday, Verstappen will once again start an NLS race, this time in the much more powerful Ferrari 296 GT3, in which he previously – under the pseudonym Franz Hermann – completed a number of test laps. He shares the cockpit with good friend and Verstappen.com Racing driver Chris Lulham. Their Ferrari is still run by Emil Frey Racing. Together, they will compete against approximately 109 other cars in a four-hour race on the notorious Nürburgring ‘Green Hell’.
