Is Christian Horner making a comeback to Formula 1 through the Haas team? According to recent rumors, the former Red Bull team boss is interested in returning to the premier class via the American racing team. Earlier this week, Horner severed all ties with his previous employer, Red Bull.

Since his dismissal from Red Bull shortly after the British Grand Prix, Christian Horner has been absent from the paddock. However, the Austrians only officially bid farewell to the former team boss last Monday. Reportedly, the Brit received a substantial severance package. However, the amount could have been higher. According to Sky Sports F1, the Brit turned down an even larger amount to ensure that he could join a competing racing team as early as next year.

Horner was previously linked to Ferrari and Alpine, but those rumors quickly came to an end. Therefore, the former Red Bull team boss is now being linked to a completely different team: Haas. Among others, former driver Christijan Albers recently hinted at this. According to the British newspaper The Daily Mail, Horner is interested in a role with the midfield team. The opportunity for significant autonomy within the racing team would be a decisive factor. Additionally, the Brit would not have to relocate for his new job, as Haas’s European headquarters is located in Banbury, Britain.

Haas is currently still led by team boss Ayao Komatsu. The Japanese took over from Günther Steiner in January 2024 after the Italian left the racing team. Haas is currently second to last in the constructors’ championship with 44 World Championship points, above Alpine.
