This season, Lewis Hamilton made his long-awaited debut with Ferrari. After a long and illustrious career in Formula 1, he chose a new challenge with the Scuderia. It has proven to be a significant challenge, as the 40-year-old Brit has had an inconsistent season, not yet advancing beyond fourth place. Hamilton receives support from Formula 1 legend Alain Prost, who emphasizes that the seven-time world champion has not forgotten how to race.

With eight Grands Prix still to go, Hamilton is still waiting for his first podium with Ferrari. The British star has had a tough time in his first half-year in Maranello. He struggled with the handling of his SF-25 and was consistently outperformed by teammate Charles Leclerc. During the past race weekend in Monza – his first Italian GP with Ferrari – he crossed the finish line in sixth place. Meanwhile, he also holds the sixth position in the world championship.

Four-time world champion Alain Prost, who raced for Ferrari between 1990 and 1991, shows understanding for Hamilton and the complicated situation at the red team. “If you win with Ferrari, it’s better than anywhere else,” the Frenchman told L’Equipe. “But if it doesn’t work out, it hurts more than with any other team. Everyone knows it, everyone writes about it, but in reality, it’s different.” Nevertheless, Prost believes that Hamilton can still turn things around. “I really don’t believe that his talents have diminished or, even worse, disappeared,” he assured.
