Lewis Hamilton has high praise for Cadillac’s new drivers for the upcoming season. With Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, he believes the American team is bringing in the right mix of experience and talent. According to the British driver, the experience from Red Bull and Mercedes will undoubtedly benefit the team.

Hamilton spoke admiringly of his former teammate Bottas, with whom he raced at Mercedes between 2017 and 2021. He refers to Bottas as ‘one of the most honest – and probably funniest – Finns’ he knows. The Brit indicates that he still misses working with Bottas. “Sergio has a lot of experience in a top team, and that will help Cadillac to make progress more quickly,” he said. Bottas and Pérez bring a wealth of experience – together they account for 527 Grand Prix starts and 16 victories.

Hamilton believes that a new team like Cadillac benefits from experienced drivers. “For a new team to develop, you need drivers who know how it works,” said the Brit. “They’ve chosen the right men. You get two different perspectives from Red Bull and Mercedes, with knowledge and experience that they can both bring in to move the team forward.”
