Fernando Alonso expressed mixed feelings following the Italian Grand Prix. The Spaniard expressed frustration after Aston Martin disappointed him yet again – this time, he had to prematurely end his race due to a suspension issue. “I should have thirty more points,” said the two-time world champion after the race in Monza.
Alonso had to abandon the race due to recurring issues with his Aston Martin. This marked the fourth time this season that Alonso had to retire. “It’s very frustrating because we were in P7 and could have scored six points that we desperately need for the constructors’ championship,” Alonso said.
The Aston Martin driver not only expressed his frustration about the race in Italy, but also about the ongoing issues that have been plaguing him all season. “Luck is not on our side this season, and as a result, we are losing a lot of points. It’s incredibly frustrating, but I’m starting to get used to it,” he concluded cynically. “I should have twenty to thirty more points, but that’s not my fault.”
