For Max Verstappen, the Formula 1 weekend in Zandvoort is not just about racing, but also about fulfilling some commercial obligations. For instance, before the first training sessions on the circuit, he performed the official opening of Café de Pitstraat for sponsor Heineken.

The four-time world champion of Red Bull Racing symbolically poured the first glass of Heineken 0.0 beer. Verstappen has been an ambassador for Heineken’s non-alcoholic beer for some time now.

The new race café, located in the fan zone of Circuit Zandvoort, offers visitors during the Dutch GP weekend the opportunity to participate in beer pouring competitions. The best pourers win an exclusive visit to the paddock. According to Jan Bosselaers, marketing director of Heineken Netherlands, the Dutch Grand Prix is all about ‘coming together and collectively looking forward to the event’. “You do that best with a freshly poured beer, with or without alcohol, in hand.”
