Christian Horner has now officially been relieved of his last executive roles at Red Bull Racing. Documents from the British Companies House reveal that the 51-year-old Brit is no longer a director of both Red Bull Racing and parent company Red Bull Technology Limited.
His position has been taken over by Stefan Salzer, the global head of human resources at Red Bull GmbH. This change strongly indicates a greater influence from the Austrian headquarters on the operations of the Formula 1 team, which includes Max Verstappen among others.
Horner was dismissed as team boss in early July, following the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Brit had been part of the Red Bull Racing board since March 2007 and Red Bull Technology since 2010. Within Red Bull Racing, he worked alongside advisor Helmut Marko, while at Red Bull Technology he collaborated with financial director Alistair Rew. The new registrations show that Salzer and Marko are now the only directors of Red Bull Racing.
Under Horner’s leadership, Red Bull Racing secured eight world titles among drivers and six constructor titles. Since his departure from the paddock, he has largely stayed out of the limelight. However, he is being linked with a possible return to Alpine in the paddock.
