Former Red Bull driver Sergio Pérez appears to still be keen on a return to Formula 1. A close friend of the 35-year-old Mexican recently revealed that he has hired a new manager, indicating that he is seriously working on a comeback to the premier class. Pérez’s contract with Red Bull was prematurely terminated after a disappointing fourth season with the Austrian racing team.

Pérez bid farewell to Formula 1 at the end of 2024 after a challenging year with Red Bull. However, the six-time Grand Prix winner has always maintained that he is open to a comeback – but only with a project he believes can be competitive. One of the possible options is the new Formula 1 team from Cadillac. The American outfit has mentioned Checo multiple times as a key candidate for one of their seats in 2026, when it will make its debut in the sport as the eleventh team.

Xavi Martos, the fitness trainer who worked closely with Pérez for many years, emphasizes that his good friend is certainly not idle behind the scenes. “I look at it as a spectator, but people have never talked about this,” Martos told Duralavita. “Sergio recently hired a new manager. He used to work with Julian Jakobi, but now he has someone else.” According to Martos, that new manager is former driver Khalil Beschir. “I think that answers all the questions,” he added. “If you want to stop racing, you don’t hire a new manager. At least that’s how I see it.”
