Apple’s feature film F1: The Movie has become a global box office sensation. With a staggering $509 million in cinema revenue, it is Apple’s most successful cinema release ever, marking an impressive milestone for Apple TV+.
According to figures from Comscore, reported by CNBC, the film crossed the half-billion-dollar mark by the end of July. This puts F1 far ahead of previous Apple productions, including Napoleon ($221 million), Killers of the Flower Moon ($158 million), and Argylle ($96 million).
The film has been released in over 80 countries worldwide, and by mid-July, it had already surpassed the $400 million mark. F1 is now even more popular than the classic Superman ($502 million), making it one of the biggest summer hits of the year.
Following its cinema release, the film is expected to be available on Apple TV+ later this year. Meanwhile, rumors are circulating that Apple has successfully bid to stream Formula 1 races in the future.
