Ferrari is set to bring upgrades to Spa-Francorchamps, including a new rear suspension that will be tested during a filming day at Mugello this week. With these new upgrades, Ferrari hopes to make a positive start to the second half of the season and ultimately secure second place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Preparations for the second half of the season are in full swing across all teams. Earlier, Helmut Marko confirmed that Red Bull will be bringing new parts to the RB21 for the next race on the calendar, the Belgian GP. Ferrari is not lagging behind. The Italian team is currently busy testing a new rear suspension at Mugello ahead of the weekend in the Ardennes.
Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will get behind the wheel of the modified SF-25 during Wednesday’s filming day at the Italian circuit to test the new component. Earlier, the Scuderia brought an upgrade to the floor to the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone. The new rear suspension should make the SF-25 less sensitive to ride height, which should provide useful setup options to improve the working window of the Pirelli tires.
Second Place
Despite Ferrari’s ongoing efforts to improve their 2025 car, test driver Marc Gené does not believe that either Hamilton or Leclerc is still a contender for the title. “I hope the fight between Lando Norris and Piastri continues until the end,” he told Diario Sport. “We ourselves are more in a fight with Mercedes and Red Bull. We are trying to secure second place in the Constructors’ Championship. That is an important goal for us. But to achieve that, we need to work well as a team. At the moment, we are doing well. Our drivers are giving their all.”
