Franco Colapinto has sent a special gift to his football idol, Lionel Messi. The Alpine driver shared a photo on his Instagram story of the Argentine playmaker gratefully receiving a helmet from his compatriot, a broad smile on his face. This gesture did not come out of the blue, as the well-known saying goes – one good turn deserves another.
Messi is currently participating with Inter Miami in the FIFA Club World Cup tournament, a new competition launched by FIFA this year that will be held every four years. Franco Colapinto did not want this moment to pass unnoticed and sent a signed racing helmet to Inter Miami’s training complex as a tribute. On the visor, he wrote a personal message in white marker: “Thank you for the joy!”
Argentine Jersey
Colapinto’s gesture has been enthusiastically received by Argentine sports fans. A few months earlier, it was Messi who made the gesture. The football legend sent a signed Argentine jersey to his young compatriot, who reacted with delight: “I can’t believe it, thank you so much. As you can see, it has brought me a lot of luck. It’s the signature of the best in the world. I’m going to frame this jersey. I’m super happy and grateful, Leo.”
