In a candid interview with the Italian Corriere della Sera, he was asked who he thinks is the best driver of all time. At 75 years old, the eccentric Italian has seen numerous racing talents shine. But who stands out above the rest in his opinion?
“Schumacher, Senna, Alonso… it’s hard to choose just one name,” he mused. “But at this moment, Max Verstappen is undoubtedly number one,” Briatore assured. For now, the Dutch champion still drives for Red Bull, although rumors suggest he is considering an early transfer. Big teams like Mercedes and Aston Martin are reportedly lining up to sign the 27-year-old driver. Briatore also dreams of collaborating with Verstappen. When asked who he would prefer to have on his team, he replied with a wink: “Two times Verstappen – after all, I have two cars.”
