Just like last season, McLaren will appear with a special livery during the race weekend in Monaco. This time, it’s a tribute to the McLaren M7A, which surprisingly shares many similarities with the MCL39: the striking color and the fact that both are winning cars. And good news for fans: those who miss the special livery in Monaco will get another chance in Spain. The team from Woking will also start with this design there.
The new design is a tribute not just to any car, but to the legendary McLaren M7A. This vehicle debuted in 1968 with the Papaya color scheme, with which Bruce McLaren achieved the team’s very first victory. In collaboration with team partner OKX, the changed color scheme is a nod to the M7A, while also drawing inspiration from the ‘elegance’ of the French Riviera.(McLaren)

The special livery will not only be used during the entire race weekend in Monaco, but also at the Spanish Grand Prix. In Monte Carlo, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will also compete in modified racing overalls, in line with the campaign concept A New Alternative.
“It’s always special to be able to honor our rich history,” says Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer of McLaren Racing. “Collaborating with OKX on this livery modification is a wonderful way to not only celebrate that past, but also the innovation and forward-thinking that McLaren and OKX share. I look forward to seeing the cars in action over the next two weekends.”
