Monaco GP Qualifying Faces Rain Threat

The race at Imola has just finished, and the next Grand Prix is already on the horizon. For the second part of the triple header, Formula 1 is heading to Monaco. The Grand Prix in this city-state is particularly known for its exciting qualifying round on Saturday. For the upcoming weekend, there is a chance of moderate rainfall during this session. The rest of the weekend promises to be mostly sunny, with temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius.

The weather in Monaco is often unpredictable. For instance, two years ago, there was a veritable water show in the streets of Monte-Carlo, with multiple drivers going off the track. A year later, the sun was shining, limiting the chaos to a crash between Sergio Pérez and the Haas drivers in the opening round.

Weather Forecast for the Monaco GP

Will we see a repeat of the rain chaos this upcoming weekend? The chance is particularly present during the qualifying session, the most important Saturday of the year. On Friday, there is already a small chance of one or two showers in the late afternoon. A light southern breeze from the sea will bring pleasant temperatures up to 22 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday, when the qualifying round is scheduled, even more cloud cover is expected over the streets of Monte-Carlo. There is even a moderate chance of rainfall on the circuit in the afternoon. The temperatures will remain the same, around 21 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the weather is expected to clear up before the race. Dry conditions and a maximum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius are expected for the last day of the Monaco weekend.
