A setback for Ferrari and equally disappointing for the Tifosi in Imola: both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were eliminated in Q2 during the qualifying for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
After the first run in Q2, Leclerc and Hamilton were still in a good position. However, the tide quickly turned. Carlos Sainz put his Williams in P1 and teammate Alexander Albon also improved his time. A strategic masterstroke from Aston Martin proved decisive. Both Fernando Alonso‘s and Lance Stroll‘s cars were fitted with a set of medium tyres, and with success: they too beat the times of Leclerc and Hamilton. The result: Leclerc will have to start from P11 on Sunday, Hamilton from P12.
