Andrea Kimi Antonelli has a strong affinity for the Miami International Autodrome. The Italian secured pole position during the sprint qualification, becoming the youngest ever pole sitter, and managed to secure a spot on the second starting row during Saturday’s qualification. “I’m bringing everything together this weekend,” the proud driver states.

“This weekend has been going well so far,” the Mercedes driver remains modest. “I was a bit disappointed after this morning, but it was nice to bounce back.” Antonelli was unable to capitalize on his sprint pole, falling back in the field in turn one during the sprint race. “I didn’t have as good a run during today’s qualification as I did yesterday. The last lap was very good, I was just a bit too greedy in turn one. But all in all, a good lap.”

‘The whole field is close together’

Kimi Antonelli qualified in third place, sandwiched between the two McLarens. “The field is very close together, so if you can drive even a few hundredths of a second faster, it can make a big difference in terms of positions. I’m bringing everything together this weekend, and hopefully, I’ll have a good race tomorrow as well.”
