Less than a day after the disappointing sprint qualification of the Ferrari drivers, the team has been hit with another setback. Charles Leclerc ended up against the wall before the start of the sprint race. The Monegasque lost control of his SF-25, as it is currently pouring down at the Miami International Autodrome. The rear wing of the car is broken, and Leclerc cannot participate in the sprint race.
Leclerc hit the wall while driving to the grid with his colleagues. The Monegasque was on intermediates, but the rainfall seems to be too heavy for the intermediate tires. “It was complete aquaplaning,” Leclerc himself gives as the cause via the radio. Ferrari cannot repair the car before the start of the sprint race, which means Leclerc cannot participate in the shortened race.
