Red Bull GmbH CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is confident that Max Verstappen will remain with Red Bull for the foreseeable future. Rumors of a potential move by the Dutch driver to Mercedes or Aston Martin have been circulating amidst the numerous issues the team faced in Bahrain. “A long-term partnership means sticking together even in difficult times,” says Mintzlaff.
Red Bull’s sports boss, Oliver Mintzlaff, is the latest prominent figure within the Austrian team to dismiss rumors of a Max Verstappen exit. Previously, team boss Christian Horner also expressed no concerns about the Dutchman’s future with the racing team, stating that Verstappen has “confirmed his commitment.” Mintzlaff now echoes the Brit’s sentiments.”I am confident that Max Verstappen will continue the long journey he has made with Red Bull so far. Max will also drive for us in 2026,” Mintzlaff told Bild. “He didn’t sign a contract until 2028 for nothing, and he recently made his position clear. Max once told me that he started his career at Red Bull, and he would like to end it there.” The Dutchman had already downplayed rumors of a switch during the Saudi Arabian race weekend, saying he was still satisfied with Red Bull.
Difficult Times
The Red Bull boss also has every confidence that the Austrian racing team will soon be competing for victory in every Grand Prix again. “Of course we are in a difficult phase, but I don’t feel that Max is going to doubt himself because of this,” Mintzlaff continues. “As long as the mentality exists that we can build the best car, he will work with us. Only in this way can we be successful again. A long-term collaboration means that you stay together even in difficult times.”
