Forty years after Ayrton Senna’s victory at the Estoril circuit in Portugal, the local football club has released a special jersey in tribute to the Brazilian driver.
A nice nod indeed. The Estoril Praia club (9th in the Portuguese first division) will wear a special jersey in the colors of Brazil this Saturday to challenge Braga. Instead of their usual yellow kit, the team will sport green, yellow, and blue stripes on a black background, as a tribute to… Ayrton Senna, 40 years after his victory at the Estoril circuit.
The legendary Brazilian driver indeed claimed the very first of his 41 Formula 1 career victories on April 21, 1985, at the Portuguese Grand Prix. The club from the municipality of Cascais, in the suburbs of Lisbon, has thus decided to pay him tribute.
