The Formula 1 will celebrate its seventy-fifth anniversary in 2025. To mark this milestone, the season was launched with the F1 75 event in London. During this unique show, all liveries were unveiled simultaneously. F1 75 received mixed reactions from fans and the media, but the drivers were particularly enthusiastic about this ‘insane’ evening.

Of course, F1 75 was a commercial celebration. Moreover, it wouldn’t be a Formula 1 event without a tight schedule, where all of Jack Whitehall’s jokes as the host were pre-planned. Combined with a few questionable performances by guest artists, it was indeed a, well, special evening. Nevertheless, the various team presentations made up for a lot. The drivers also seemed to enjoy F1 75.

“The energy was truly insane when we stood there in the middle of the stage unveiling the car,” Haas driver Esteban Ocon responded during a press conference in Bahrain. “The roar of the crowd will forever be etched in my memory. I enjoy watching UFC – those guys are of course used to standing in the middle of a stadium, but we never really experience that. It was very special.”

F1 75 in Paris?

Former teammate and Alpine driver Pierre Gasly was also enthusiastic, but saw room for improvements. “It was a great event,” he agreed. “I’m sure we can make a few adjustments here and there to improve the show and the entire organization and get more out of it in the future, but it was special regardless. As a Formula 1 driver, you don’t often stand on a stage in a full stadium.”

“I loved it,” added George Russell. “Everything that Formula 1 is doing at the moment feels like a valuable addition to the sport as a whole. I really enjoyed it and would love to see this organized again – next year or whenever.” Will Formula 1 travel to London again next year for a joint presentation? If it’s up to these drivers, yes, although Pierre Gasly would also like to visit another destination. “Hopefully it will be in Paris,” he concluded with a wink.
