Racing driver Morris Schuring is making Dutch motorsport history. The long-distance racer from Den Dolder is the youngest Dutchman ever to secure a contract with motorsport giant Porsche. “This is truly a dream come true,” says the new ‘Porsche Contracted Driver’.
With his Porsche contract, Schuring follows in the footsteps of Dutch drivers Jeroen Bleekemolen and two-time Le Mans winner Gijs van Lennep. The exact races in which the twenty-year-old Schuring will participate are still unknown. However, the young driver can be deployed at any of Porsche’s customer teams worldwide.
A Dream Come True
“This is truly a dream come true, something that has been my goal from the start,” Schuring says in the official press release. “The fact that I can now officially race for and on behalf of Porsche means an incredible amount to me!” This is not the first time Schuring has dealt with Porsche. The driver previously raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, the German Porsche Carrera Cup, and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
Even when Schuring switched to long-distance racing, Porsche continued to play a key role in his career. “The fact that the contacts with Porsche have now led to an official contract is of course fantastic!” the driver continues. “It is a great honor to also follow in the footsteps of someone like Gijs van Lennep. I will do everything I can to live up to the trust that Porsche has placed in me.”
