The Formula 1 has once again announced the annual ‘Promotor Awards’ winners. The ceremony took place at the Natural History Museum in London last Wednesday. The most prestigious award of the evening, ‘Promotor of the Year’, was awarded to South Florida Motorsports for organizing the GP Miami, thus dethroning GP Zandvoort.
The Dutch Grand Prix won two awards at last year’s gala for the 2023 season. In addition to ‘Promotor of the Year’, the Zandvoort organization also won the award for the most sustainable Grand Prix. This honor goes to neighboring Belgium for the 2024 season. GP Zandvoort did not win any awards during the evening in London.
‘Fantastic Work’
“The organizations provide the incredible backdrop to our sport and their hard work, creativity, and innovation are central to the success of Formula 1,” congratulates Formula 1 Chairman Stefano Domenicali the winners. The Italian emphasizes the responsibility of the organizations to organize ever better and more sustainable Grands Prix.
“A challenge that I know drives our promoter teams every day,” Domenicali continues. “My congratulations go out to Miami and all the other winners and nominees. I look forward to the fantastic work you will do this year to elevate your events to an even higher level.”
In addition to Miami and Belgium, the Grands Prix of Abu Dhabi (for the most spectacular event), Singapore (for the best fan experience), Mexico (for the best opening and closing shows), and Australia (for the best community initiative) also won awards.
