The fourth ePrix of the eleventh Formula E season has been won by Oliver Rowland. With this victory, the Brit strengthens his leading position in the world championship. Nyck de Vries was unable to follow up on his excellent performance from the previous day in Jeddah, while colleague Robin Frijns played a supporting role once again.

In the lead-up to the second race in Jeddah and the fourth of this season, there was some excitement surrounding Stoffel Vandoorne, who is racing for Maserati this year. The Belgian, who was the Formula E world champion in 2022, lost his third starting position because the fire extinguisher in his car was not locked. Starting from the 22nd and last place, Vandoorne was already facing an uphill battle.

For Nyck de Vries, who started eighth, and Robin Frijns, who started from P14, the quick crash of Antonio Felix Da Costa and Maximilian Günther provided an opportunity to move further up the field. In the fourth lap, the two Dutchmen encountered each other on the track: with a daring manoeuvre, Frijns overtook De Vries for the eighth place. This proved to be the prelude, with the help of the so-called attack mode (extra power), to a surge to the front of the field.

However, Frijns could not enjoy the clear view for long, as he fell back to seventh place within two laps. De Vries spent the rest of the race in the midfield. The Dutchmen eventually finished thirteenth (De Vries) and fourteenth (Frijns) in Jeddah.
