In 2024, McLaren driver Lando Norris had an extremely competitive car at his disposal. Despite this, he was unable to outperform Max Verstappen, who was crowned world champion for the fourth time in the autumn. In the anniversary season, Norris is eager to make a bid for the title with renewed vigor. The 25-year-old Brit sends a warning to his competitors – he is in top form.
After a thrilling title fight, Max Verstappen claimed the world championship last year during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Rival Lando Norris failed to finish ahead of the Dutchman, resulting in the Formula 1 season being decided after twenty-two Grand Prix races. However, a new title fight is on the horizon. If McLaren has another competitive car this season, Norris is determined to challenge his Dutch rival for the crown once again. New round, new opportunities.
‘Seeing is Believing’
“I think I proved myself last year,” Norris stated on an episode of the British show This Morning. “I never really believed in the hype,” he said, referring to the high expectations surrounding him. “‘Seeing is believing’, I’m a big advocate of that, especially when it comes to things I do personally.” Therefore, the British driver is proud that he was able to compete for the championship in 2024. Moreover, after nearly six seasons in Formula 1, he won the very first Grand Prix of his career.””Last year, I proved that I can win races, dominate a weekend, and compete against the best in the world,” he explained. “I really had to convince myself that I was capable of doing so, and I did that last year. Of course, I also made mistakes; I certainly didn’t do it perfectly,” he admitted honestly. “But that allows me to start this season with confidence. I am truly self-assured, and for me, that’s a rare feeling.” When asked, Lando Norris assured that he is not becoming overconfident. “I am in the form of my life, both physically and mentally,” he concluded. “As a team, we are too. The expectations are high, but we are determined. I have every confidence.”
