Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas! This weekend, Formula 1 kicks off a new triple header and the final three races of the season. The world’s gambling capital is the starting point, after which the circus moves on to Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Weather remains one of the most unpredictable factors in Formula 1. During the last practice session in São Paulo, heavy rainfall caused significant delays; the qualification even had to be postponed until Sunday morning. Rain also poured down during the race on Sunday, leading to multiple retirements, safety cars, and red flags. In the end, it was a brilliant Max Verstappen who emerged as the winner. The undisputed rain king seems to be facing a dry race this weekend, although it promises to be cold in Las Vegas.

Weather Forecast for the Las Vegas Grand Prix

The first free practice sessions are scheduled for Thursday evening. Please note, due to the time difference, these sessions will take place on Friday morning for us Dutch. On the opening day, it is likely to remain dry, with a maximum temperature of about 18 degrees Celsius. Not exactly warm by Formula 1 standards, but a pleasant sun is expected in Nevada. In the evening, the temperature drops to values below 10 degrees.

The third free practice session takes place on Friday evening, followed by the crucial qualification. It remains bone dry in the desert, where the humidity is only 17 percent. It will be cool again, with a maximum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. At night, the mercury drops to around 8 degrees. Friday will be slightly cloudier, but it remains windless. Finally, the Grand Prix takes place on Saturday evening, right through the streets of Las Vegas. It will be slightly warmer, with temperatures around 11 degrees Celsius during the race. During the day, it will probably be around 21 degrees. The chance of rain remains negligible, but a biting wind is expected on Saturday.
