Max Verstappen is not taking a break even after his spectacular victory in São Paulo last weekend. The Dutchman is participating in The Race for Mental Health, a 23-hour sim race designed to raise funds for charity.
It’s been less than a week since Max Verstappen amazed both friends and foes with his powerful comeback in the Brazilian rain, but the Dutchman is already back behind the wheel. Verstappen is participating in a sim race, The Race for Mental Health, on November 9 and 10 to raise funds for the charity Mind, a British mental health charity.
In addition to the three-time Formula 1 world champion, IndyCar champion and Indy500 winner Tony Kanaan, and GT3 Pro driver Daniel Morad are also participating in the event. The event is organized by influencer and sim racer Jimmy Broadbent. “I wanted to give something back to the community that has been so kind to me,” Broadbent tells Forbes.
Incognito
This is not the first time the event has been organized. The sim race has raised £300,000 over the past few years, and Max Verstappen has also participated before. “Max showed up incognito on another team last year. I didn’t know he was racing until he was on our track,” reveals Broadbent.
“And he didn’t just participate, but also donated a large portion of his own money to the charity, which is fantastic,” continues the sim racer. “My main goal was to raise as much money as possible for this charity. So having the current F1 world champion, an IndyCar legend, and a current GT driver participate is really cool.
