Esteban Ocon is eagerly anticipating his next Formula 1 adventure with Haas in 2025. The French driver is set to leave Alpine for the American team, becoming teammates with Oliver Bearman. Ocon is excited to race alongside who he describes as a “future world champion”.

It was announced on Thursday that Esteban Ocon has signed a multi-year contract with Haas. The Frenchman will leave Alpine at the end of 2024 and will become the new teammate of rookie Oliver Bearman in 2025. Ocon is certainly looking forward to his new role.

“It’s of course great to finally be able to talk about it,” says the Frenchman. “It’s an exciting challenge that lies ahead of us. The team is currently on the rise and they want to keep it that way.” Haas is currently seventh in the constructors’ championship, with a lead of 18 points over Ocon’s current employer, Alpine.

Ocon’s Collaboration with Bearman

The “grand” future plans of the American team convinced the French driver to switch to Haas. “I clearly have a long history with Ayao (Komatsu, Haas team boss), who was my first race engineer in Formula 1, and he convinced me of his plan about where they want to go. It’s exciting, it’s a new challenge for me, which I’m really looking forward to. And also to race with Ollie (Bearman). He’s a great young talent. Many people say he’s a future world champion.”

Oliver Bearman will make his debut in Formula 1 with Haas in 2025. The current Formula 2 driver has already driven during free practice for the team, and replaced Carlos Sainz at Ferrari during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. “I don’t think Ollie needs my help anywhere,” Ocon therefore says in advance. “He probably has more experience with the team than I will have next year. I will probably have to ask him many more things! I don’t need to give him any tips, that’s not going to happen.”
