Following a rainy Grand Prix at Silverstone, Formula 1 is gearing up for the Hungarian GP this weekend. The action moves to Mogyoród, home of the famed Hungaroring, for the thirteenth race of the year. Max Verstappen and his fellow racers are set to face extreme weather conditions – an exceptionally hot weekend is on the horizon. Here’s the complete weather forecast for the Hungarian GP!

While we in the Netherlands are waiting for a bit of summer weather, those in Hungary will be craving some respite from the heat. The coming week will see temperatures frequently soaring to around 35 degrees Celsius. Local authorities in various regions have already issued red alerts – the extreme heat is no laughing matter. The seventy laps around the Hungaroring promise to be a real test for Formula 1.

Weather Forecast for the Hungarian GP

On Friday, the racers will get their first taste of the extreme temperatures in Mogyoród. During the free practice sessions, the sky above the circuit will be partly cloudy, but the temperature will still reach a scorching 34 degrees. The chance of rain is negligible. Spectators in the stands would be wise to bring sunscreen instead of a rain poncho; with up to nine hours of sunshine per day, sunburn is a real risk at the Hungaroring.

Little changes for the qualifying round on Saturday – the temperature in Mogyoród will peak at 32 degrees Celsius, and the chance of rain remains minimal. The wind won’t provide much relief from the heat in Hungary – a slight breeze won’t be enough to combat the extreme temperatures. Finally, on race day Sunday, the temperature will be around 32 degrees. Any cloud cover will likely have disappeared by the time of the race, making it a challenging ordeal.
