Formula 1 has officially partnered with Mission 44, a foundation established by Lewis Hamilton. Mission 44 is dedicated to promoting diversity and equal opportunities in motorsport, supporting young, ambitious engineers. With the backing of Formula 1, the foundation hopes to reach even more young people in the future.
Mission 44 has collaborated extensively with Formula 1 in the past. From now on, the premier class will be a partner of the foundation. During the race weekend in Silverstone, an inaugural networking event will take place, providing young engineers with the opportunity to meet Formula 1 technicians.
New Collaboration
The foundation is pleased to join forces with Formula 1. CEO Jason Arthur emphasizes that the collaboration will provide even more opportunities for the next generation of engineers. “When Lewis Hamilton established Mission 44 three years ago, the goal was to create a fairer, more inclusive future for young people around the world,” says the Brit. “Together with Formula 1, we will work towards more inclusivity and accessibility for young people. We are pleased with this collaboration and want to take diversity in motorsport to the next level.”
“In recent years, we have been pleased to support Mission 44 in their mission to make the sport more diverse,” says Ellen Jones, Social Director within Formula 1. “We look forward to this renewed collaboration. We are curious about how many new opportunities we can offer to the next generation.”
Lewis Hamilton is also excited about the new collaboration, as he announced via X. The seven-time world champion founded Mission 44 in 2021. According to the foundation’s figures, he has already been able to help 300,000 young people in the United Kingdom.
