The 24-hour Le Mans race, one of the world’s most prestigious long-distance races, will once again see a strong Dutch presence in 2024. This week, eight drivers will represent the Netherlands in this iconic event. Here’s an overview.

Three of the eight Dutch participants will compete in the highest class, the Hypercars, this year. Nyck de Vries, racing alongside Kamui Kobayashi and José María López, will be driving Toyota’s number 7 car, one of the fastest in the field. However, Kobayashi caused a red flag during Wednesday’s qualification, resulting in the loss of all their lap times and a starting position at the back of the field.

Renger van der Zande had a better week in the run-up to the Hyperpole battle and the weekend’s victory: he is considered a candidate for the final victory with his Cadillac number 3 car. Robin Frijns and his BMW teammates are outsiders, with Frijns himself predicting a top-6 finish.

The remaining five Dutch drivers will compete in the LMP2 and LMGT3 classes at Le Mans. Job van Uitert, Bent Viscaal, and Nicky Catsburg will be active in the first class this year, driving cars numbered 28, 9, and 45, respectively.

In the LMGT3, Larry ten Voorde (number 66) and Morris Schuring (91) will represent the Netherlands in the 92nd edition of the 24-hour Le Mans race.
