During the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend, Sebastian Vettel will be driving Ayrton Senna’s 1993 McLaren. The four-time world champion aims to pay a beautiful tribute to the late Brazilian racer.
Vettel will take the wheel of the McLaren MP4/8, the car in which Senna competed in the 1993 championship and secured five victories. Senna’s life tragically ended a year later due to a fatal crash in Imola.
“Ayrton Senna was not just a driver I greatly admired for his status as one of the best the motorsport has ever seen, but also a man of great compassion,” said the German racer. “It’s been 30 years since his accident, and I would like to pay tribute to Ayrton.”
