DJ Martin Garrix has shed light on the nose injury of Lando Norris. The McLaren driver suffered a nose injury on King’s Day while partying on a boat in the Amsterdam canals, along with Garrix among others. “It was just a small scratch,” Garrix revealed.
Photos of Norris with a large bandage around his face immediately circulated on social media, making the injury seem severe. “Everyone made it out to be worse than it was,” Garrix told Virgin Radio Dubai about the incident with Lando Norris.
He was present when the incident occurred. “There was a broken glass on the boat. We were partying all the time and he took a sip from the broken glass. The top broken part caused a small cut on his nose. But due to the place where he cut himself, it bled a lot. Everyone thought I had broken his nose or something, but that was not the case. We had bandages to stick on the nose, but soon he turned into a sort of mummy and then someone took a picture and that picture went viral,” Garrix explained.
‘Fortunately, just a small scratch’
The popular DJ, who often attends Formula 1 races and is also good friends with several drivers, including Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, knew right away that the injury was minor. “The whole world saw that picture and thought it was very bad, but fortunately it was just a small scratch.”
The injury did not hinder Norris further. In fact, last weekend he won – with a plaster on his nose – his very first Formula 1 race in Miami, ahead of Verstappen.
