The Brazilian Grand Prix has always been more of a promoter event than a profit-raiser in itself. The contract was prolonged until 2022, although tobacco advertising has been banned since 2006.
Flashback 2017The race was won by Sebastian Vettel, who achieved his fifth victory of the season. Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Räikkönen completed the podium, while the latter in the final phase was under pressure from Lewis Hamilton, who started from the pit lane, finishing fourth. Max Verstappen finished fifth, with teammate Daniel Ricciardo behind him. Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso and Sergio Pérez were seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively, after they were in battle in the last rounds. The top 10 was closed by Nico Hülkenberg.
