Racing Bulls is under fire! After the GP of São Paulo, footage emerged of a team member seemingly encouraging the audience to boo Lando Norris during the podium ceremony. The Italian racing team later released a statement sharply condemning the employee’s behavior. However, fans reacted with mixed feelings; many believe there should still be room for competitiveness. “You can’t always be friends,” is a telling sentiment.

The video of the Racing Bulls team member is now circulating all over the internet. The footage shows him addressing the crowd and joining in the booing by giving a thumbs down. The team responded on social media with an official statement: “We are aware of the video from the podium last weekend. This does not reflect the values of our team. The matter has been dealt with internally. We believe in celebrating great races and showing respect for every driver, every team, and every fan – both on and off the track.”

‘Dare to Show Some Passion’

Many fans reacted with surprise to this message. They don’t see the severity of a simple thumbs down and point out to Racing Bulls the competitive nature of Formula 1. “That guy was just making a joke in the moment,” is a common response. “This kind of passion is part of the sport.” Most are concerned about the fact that Racing Bulls is apologizing for something like this. “A team apologizing because someone gives the opponent a thumbs down? What has happened to my sport?” was a cynical reaction.

The responses are predominantly negative, with fans emphasizing that Formula 1 is above all a competitive sport. “Hopefully that employee was only told to avoid the cameras next time. This is a sport full of rivalry – let’s not forget that,” wrote another concerned fan. “Why does everyone always have to be friends?” another added. “This is top-level sport. Dare to show some passion.”
