Lewis Hamilton had a disappointing weekend in Brazil, and he is now sharply criticizing Mercedes. “It was terrible, the car is awful,” he said.

The seven-time world champion made these remarks after the sprint race in São Paulo. Hamilton only managed to finish eleventh in the race. A spot in the top eight, which would have earned him points, was never within his reach. At one point, he even fell to fourteenth place.

“It went very badly, even worse than in the sprint qualification.” In that event, Hamilton failed to reach Q3 on Friday evening: eleventh. “And in the race, I subsequently struggled, in terms of grip it was one of the worst races ever for me.” The Brit had previously expressed a lack of confidence in the performance of the W15.

The performance is poor, the car is bad, and Hamilton is lashing out; it all bodes ill for the rest of the weekend. The Brit, who will be driving for Ferrari next season, suggests that Mercedes has a lot of work to do in Brazil. “I couldn’t even keep up with a Williams. We will have to make a lot of changes for the qualification if we want to show something.
